Sure you need the frequencies programmed in Logical Channel Order. If you are not in Michigan I would suggest posting in the state forum you live in for more help. If you are in Michigan then you might want to share with us what system you want to monitor for a little more direct assistance. Same would apply if you use another state's forum.

Anyone had any luck listening to these on this type of scanner. It says it support EDACS network standard.

It would also help if I could read! I see Consumers Energy in the title. Sorry. So Consumers is a large system and is not detailed very well in RR. The public safety systems are what most listen to and are more accurate.

What towers are you interested in? You may have to some PC programs and another radio to map it out. I have done the mapping on several myself around my home and workplace so I know those are good but many others across the state need attention.

Let me know what towers and I can help get you started, then when you figure out the LCN you can let RR know so they can list the correct order for those towers.

detroit 780, I wanted to invest in a newer triple trunking scanner without spending a fortune, to much money to invest in digital to hear MPSCS but I wanted the ability to monitor consumers if possible. I looked at the site id's, probably muskegon, grand rapids, traverse city, are these able to be monitored.

If Radio Shack pops loose on a Christmas sale on the Pro106 and Pro-197 likes years past you might be able to get a digital radio for $300 or less. Which is still more than an analog but not much.

You can start with the LCN given on RR and then branch out from there. There are a few computer programs you can use to help you figure it out. Once you have the correct LCN you'll be fine for monitoring. TO make it easy I'd get a GRE 310 or 410 since they have an output of this data and use Unitrunker with it to make it easier to figure out. Or buy the Pro 106 or 197 is they go on sale.
