Hello, does anyone out there know if the BCD996XT’s 9-pin connector supports a contact closure or GPI output? And if so what pins do I use.

Need info in order to trigger a priory interrupt for an Emergency Alert System (EAS)

Thanks,
LANEWZ

I don't believe it does. If you want to do something like that you are going to need a dedicated weather radio. They are cheap.

BC370CRS does have dry contact closures per the CEA specification. That is the only Uniden product that currently has full CEA1009A compliance.

Thanks for the info. The contact closure is needed to force a UHF radio system to listen to a TFT EAS system that also includes NOAA weather service warnings. Guess we will need to get yet another dedicated radio :(

Regarding this feature, how is it triggered? DTMF? Two Tone? MDC? Just curious, might have some real uses in the commercial world, depending on how the dry closure is triggered.

I don't understand what you are trying to do. Do you mean you want the EAS to listen TO the UHF? Are you trying to mix or scan your inputs?

It is triggered by EAS. As a fallback, if a 1050 Hz tone is detected but no EAS was detected first, it will trigger on the 1050 Hz tone.
