When I look over the Recent Change's area in the WIKI history, some members are blue , while others are red , leading me to believe that there is a tiered status among contributors.

Anytime you see a blue link in a Wiki article, that means that the linked article exists. If the link is red, that means the linked article doesn't exist. Users listed as blue links have created their home pages on the Wiki--those in red haven't.
