Control Channel behavior

If I enter a single control channel for a system, and the P25RX "learns" the other CC's (as described in the tips and tricks) will it automatically shift to the active CC if that control channel drops? I have a system I monitor that changes control channels frequently - they just rotate. I have found that unless I scan each and every CC (and there are 10) I will see that the local police are sometimes not copied at all for hours at a time. I was expecting the device to switch when a CC dropped off the air, but that's not the behavior I am seeing.

Sorry for the delay in response. I meant to answer earlier. When the P25RX first became available, the behavior was as described in the user manual (really needs updating). As several users wanted to monitor more than one control channel, the way roaming works changed. One suggestion was that the roaming tab should have an option to allow the table to be populated from the alternate / adjacent repeaters. I'll see what I can get done along these lines.

If you do change this, and develop the capability of roaming in the traditional sense of switching a control channel to an alternate based off of RSSI, then current form of roaming that the reciever does should be renamed, so that the vocabulary follows common industry terminology, as the current form of roaming is more along the lines of a multi-system scan to avoid confusion.

I do understand that this wasn't originally an issue and that at one time, the roaming name was more accurate since it wasnt originally intended to be used on multiple systems, so this wasn't a negative comment, more just a suggestion to avoid confusion further down the line.

Current firmware does automatically switch to alternates, but you have to manually add the frequencies to the roaming table. The original firmware would automatically do this.

Are there any plans to utilize the adjacent site broadcast table for roaming, so you could roam like a non-affiliate scan radio currently does? Also, maybe an option to specify "least preferred" and "preferred" sites, like you can do in the Astro25 CPS?

Yes, it also receives the adjacent frequencies as well. There are many things that need to be added to the roaming configuration. I will add the preferred/least preferred option to the list.
