In my manual, there is a section for determining the correct Plan. It talks about setting the plan based on looking at "All of the frequencies ......". So does 'All' refer to all the control freqs (both primary and alternative), or does 'All' refer to both all the control freqs and all other non control freqs?

trunking System

(both primary and alternative) is all you need to enter in your scanner for a trunking system.I have found on a HARRIS system like Parma i use all frequency's WHY because with a Harris system any one of them can be used as a Control Channel.

Understood, however, with my BC296D for 800 systems, I also need to input a Plan1, Plan2, Plan3 or a Plan4 value. The correct Plan value is a function of the last 3 digits of certain freqs. I'm trying to determine which freqs to look at for figuring the right Plan.

Thanks a bunch Paul!! Was kind of what I was doing, but recently started 2nd guessing myself. In some situations, it does make a difference so it's important. After much work, I finally have my old BC296D working well here in central Ohio. Monitoring several systems just fine......at least until I screw up something! Take care, Chuck
