Trying to obtain the control channels for Madison/St Clair Counties in Illinois. Anybody have a list of the ones that have been active on the system. I'm getting ISP, but not the munies. Please help a "novice" programmer load my scanner. Also, info on how to get them into the BCD996T would be helpful. This new "Digital" stuff is driving us "old dogs" crazy. Reading the manual is like having teeth pulled. I've copied the online, "easier to read" manual. but still can't figure out the way to put them in properly. Thanks.

Everything listed in the database is correct.

If you want to hear St Clair County Municipalities, you must have site 359 loaded.

ISP may show up on there once in a while, but usually on all the other sites.

I am located in Glen Carbon if you need more help.

You need to use a program to enter in the frequencies, it will be much more helpful, like bctool.

Be sure to look at starcom21.com for more help too.

I would like to get it straight. To hear any St. Clair Co units I have to have site 359 programmed. Will I hear any St. Clair Co units on other Starcom sites? Or are they site 359 specific? If not I will make sure I only program the St Clair Co TG's on 359 only. Don't want to waste extra time doing something I don't need to. Also, is is correct to say that only ISP units MAY sometimes use or "hit" the 359 site? I don't really have to enter those TG's right, because there are so many other towers in the county to cover what is said. Thanks Terry for all you do. I will be asking questions all the time sir. Correct, you shouldn't hear the county units on the ISP sites as they are 359 specific. I personally wouldn't load the other StarComm talk groups into 359 just to ID the occasional transmissions.
And to second what Terry says, you should have software to load and manage your systems. There are still a lot of TG's's being constantly added and revised. I use the ARC software and and think its great.

Thanks Dave. I thought that is what I needed to do. And because there are so many towers located so close even if I do miss a transmission, which is highly unlikely, there are those towers that should pick them up. I am located about 8 miles or so on the MO side of the river and my biggest problem is reception. Though even sitting in St. Clair Co reception is a crap shoot. Don't know how they do it. Jeff
