Is it necessary or recommended to program the secondary control freqs in to monitor MARCS? I live in Stark County (Massillon) and have 3 districts programed in 3 separate banks (Dist 3, Dist 4, and Dist 7) all with just the primary control freqs. It seems to work pretty good this way, but I'm wondering if I might be missing some calls. I hear calls on Dist 3 and 4 but very, very little on Dist 7. The scanner I use is a Pro-96 and I use Win 96 for programming it. :?:

It would be necessary if you want to continue monitoring them in the event they switch to the alternate CC. I'm curious why you would _not_ want to put them in the bank?

Well I've seen it posted somewhere that you only had to enter the control channels. It didn't make any mention of whether or not you had to put both primary and secondary in. As to why I didn't put secondary ones in, it's probably just laziness on my part. With having 3 Districts programed, that's a lot of just primary freqs, secondary freqs would double maybe even triple the amount of freqs and then there are the duplicate ones. Since I'm off work today maybe I'll put them in and see if it makes a difference.

It won't make a difference in your day-to-day scanning... It only matters if the primary control channel drops off.
