BC895XLT: Controls not working

I have had this scanner for many years. Today when I tried to go into manual mode nothing happens when I push the button. I have tried turning it off and on and also unplugging it. The lock switch on the back is off. It is scanning the last frequencies I programmed into it but none of the controls on the front panel are working. I keep it clean and it has never been wet. Any suggestions?
