Illinois State Police had 21 localized call centers before the number was trimmed to four last week as part of Quinn’s budget cutting efforts. Offices in Effingham, Carmi and Ullin were closed and consolidated with Du Quoin. Other officies left open include Springfield, Sterling and Des Plaines
Unless I'm missing something, only the D12, D19, and D22 dispatch centers were consolidated. As far as I can tell, the district dispatch centers in Central and Northern IL are still functioning as they were (for now).

I thought I remember reading somewhere (I can't find it now) that the "cut to four dispatch centers" was shelved in favor of some smaller consolidations like what happened to D12/13/19/22?

They have only sonsolidated dispatch in the southern districts. Rumor was the ISP had backed off on further consolidation. From what I hear now the ISP is moving forward with consolidation of dispatch centers. Don't be surprised to see the northern districts outside of Chicago being dispatched out of Sterling (1,16, 17 and possibly 7 and 14). Districts 11, 20, 10, 5, 8, 18 will probably be dispatched by D-9 Springield. District Chicago plus D-5, 2 and 21 will probably be consolidated.

From past experience don't believe anything till it actually happens. Rumors abound concerning how the consolidation will be or not be funded. From the limited time I've listened to new center in Du Quoin the Telecommunicators are not always handling traffic from their previous district. There have been times where ISPERN broadcast were not transmitted on the appropriate towers. They are getting by with the day to day traffic but it is going to extra confusing during major snow storms or severe thunder storms and tornadoes. Think of the hassle of trying to keep track of crash report numbers for 4 districts plus tow #'s, Field report #'s. These are minor compared to knowing how to contact the appropriate ambulances fire departments and tow trucks for such a large area.

I'm not sure what changes they have made but I know I'm seeing a lot of different tg's from what I usually see on sc21.

D20 and D14 are being handled by Springfield.
I was in western Illinois yesterday and was hearing both D20 and D14 on D14 A yesterday. However when I went there in December I was hearing both departments on D20 A talkgroup.

If I want to hear D14 units, do I need to scan both talkgroups as they could show up on either depending upon the day? Is it like with the ISPERN patches where Pro96com will show 2 talkgroups as patched but my 396T will only pick them up on one of the talkgroups?

D13 has different "desks" or consoles to cover each of the districts I believe. I have heard during the middle of shifts, two different dispatchers on 19 and 12. So there are multiple dispatchers on duty, not sure if they have 4, 1 for each district on every shift or not.

It also appears that some former dispatchers made the move, while others did not. This has been noticeable in D12, and D19, when dispatch has tried to send units from the wrong side of the district/patrol to an area they were not covering.

Also heard one county had requested an officer to handle a domestic situation, D13 asked if anyone was close to the county. The officer advised his location and he would be en route. Another trooper got on and advised, D13, that they should relay that his ETA would be 45 minutes or more. So its common for them to be dispatching an area they don't normally handle I would say.
