I was wondering if anyone knows the old conventional frequencies that were used to dispatch fire & rescue from Dulles International & Reagan National Airports prior to the current system.
I was curious to see if they still simulated the dispatches off of 3A & 3B (the current fire dispatch channels)on them.
D.C., Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, and Montgomery counties still simulcast their Trunked Fire Dispatches over their old conventional frequencies, and I was wondering if the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority did the same thing; possibly over their old frequencies.

They do not simulcast thier old frequencies, but it might be hard to tell. Just like the 800 system the range was very short, you need to be near the airport or along the access rd to hear anything. I live in Alexandria and can't hit thier control channel from Reagan National.

It didn't work

I put the frequencies into my scanner and nothing ever came up.

One other thing, I can pick up the Fire Dispatch on 3A & 3B on the 800mhz system very clearly from Rockville; everything else on that system seems to come through clearly as well.

The funny thing is, I can't pick up Alexandria City's trunked sytem at all from up there, which I thought would be close to Reagan National.

Thanks for the help,

From Rockville your probably hitting the transmitter at Dulles, not Reagan anyway. I live on the Fairfax/Alex/Arlington borer so I can pick up all 3 crystal clear. But cannot pick up Reagon National even though I'm only 8 or so miles south of there. Alex's sytstem has 2 transmitter Sites so you almost have to be in Alexandria to hear it.

I was down at the end of the runway at Reagan National friday night. I had the old freq's prog'd in, as well as the trunk channels. I saw the FD come out several times to the concourses, but not a peep out of any of the frequencies (cept the control channel...didn't know it was APCO, ....silly me).
