Converse and Selma

Converse is getting there own dispatch, as soon as the new station is built. Selma is getting tired of Live Oak and they also want to be dispatched by Converse. The system will still be on the 800s but i think the frequencies will be different and im not to sure if it is going to be digital.

Converse has not been happy with Live Oak for awile now. I did not know that Selma was not happy as well.

Does anyone know what Selma's dispatch rx/tx frequencies are on VHF?

The only vhf selma uses if 154.415 which if fire dispatch...and only the tone out is on there..everything else is on the 800

Converse dispatch

Converse is in thier new station and no closer to getting thier own dispatch than they were 10 years ago. As far as Selma is concerned, they have no intentions of leaving Live Oak dispatch ,at least not the fire department, so your information is severely mistaken. Converse is not happy with Live Oak because they felt that they should not have to pay for the services rendered to them by Live Oak. Statistics showed that over 50% of the radio traffic comes from directly from the Converse PD and 30% from the Selma PD (Also known as Selma Highway Patrol)leaving the remaining 20% coming from Live Oak PD. Live Oak felt it was only fair that they increase the amount each city paid due the amount of work each city is creating in dispatch. Converse didnt see it that way, they felt that since Live Oak is the richest of the three cities, they should absorb all additional cost. I know they plan on leaving when they can afford it, but a poor city such as Converse cannot now or anytime in the near future afford to build, staff, or support their own dispatch center. If Selma wants to leave Live Oak, I know it would not break any hearts of the police officers and firefighters working for Live Oak who cannot get a word in edgwise because of the increased PD traffic.

Also it would seem odd for Selma to get there own or move to somebodys else's dispatch center with interop issues. There have been countless times in the Forum when Selma And Live Oak have worked with each other going after cars that have shoplifted etc...and have crossed into each other cities, and they can talk to each other direct on dispatch and not have to go through calling another dispatcher and relaying the info which takes more time.
