Is there really a Converse Fire Dept. and do then have a PVT freq.

There is indeed. Converse is the name of a mill village between the eastern Spartanburg City Limits and Cowpens along Highway 29. Converse and Clifton are close neighbors, and the two housed 3 large cotton mills quite a few years ago. The Coverse Mill, or Clifton #3, still stands on Hwy 29 at the Pacolet River.

Converse uses County Fire 3, or 154.265/85.4 PL as their private frequency.

Converse, Drayton, and Cowpens FDs frequently train together and answer calls together.
