Mountmorency County is the Sticks, and I'm suprised they even know what cuffs are up there.

When I was up ther for the explorer academy at Camp Greyling one of their Lts said it's common for them to either handcuff in front or not handcuff at all and just place in the back of the car behind the cage.

As soon as this guy pulled a shotgun on the cops, they shoulda shot back...child molesters aren't worthy of the air they're allowed to breathe.

This guy lives (well, used to now) in Traverse City. He was charged with the same crime with the same victim back in '05 here in TC, but was aquitted. He apparently molested the same boy again in Montmorency county, so they moved the trial there and assigned the GT county procecuter to handle the case.

I'll bet this makes them think twice about how they handle court room procedings...it should anyway.

Just a few days ago there was a similar situation in Salt Lake City, Utah. Only this time the officer was killed!

Here's the link if you missed it:

These types of prisoners should have leg irons, and handcuffs behind their back, chained to the leg irons. Possibly even a blind fold at times.

Maybe the answer is to fit them with a remote control Taser collar round their neck, capable of delivering a lethal jolt!

This is a sore subject with me. My wife works in an environment where prisoners are frequently transfered on foot, sometimes six at a time, in very close proximity to civilian employees. And of course the civilian employees are not allowed to CCW in the building. I don't know how the legal system can be so careless.

Innocent 'til proven guilty...I guess

Both incidents in this thread were proven guilty. Besides officers frequently hand cuff people while being questioned, for officer safety.
