OK, now I'm confused. The RR database shows Conyers PD as using a conventional 800MHz freq for dispatch. However, I go search the FCC database for Conyers police and I'm getting numerous 800MHz freqs licensed to them. I'm geting the feeling they are on, or will be shortly, a trunked system but I cannot find anymore info about this anywhere. Anyone got any info on this?

Thanks for replying. An interesting note here though is if you look up WNPJ451 at the FCC's site it shows a whole load of 800mhz freqs for that callsign. It shows totally different freqs, and a note of change to the application as of 9/7/2006.

So then they ARE going to go trunked? That sucks. I just returned a Pro97 I got a few days ago. At first I liked the audio but after more listening I concluded, again, that a 2-way radio's audio just can't be beat. Give me my HT1000 or A/S anyday! :)

they could switch over at any time, but Conyers doesn't want to have to pay the extra to Rockdale County to use it when they have a repeater of their own up. Just like in Cobb County, they went P25 TRS and Marietta City is going to revert back to VHF.

I don't think Conyers needs to go trunked, especially digital. They just got taken by Motorola's line of BS, as have many other municipalities. Sure, digital has some nice features analog can't offer in one package, but do they justify digital's cost? I digress.... As long as Conyers's analog system has the coverage they need then I can't see a reason to go to RC's system.
