I did a search of these forums and found nothing about this subject.

Everyone seems to have a unique ringtone these days and so I decided to add some unique ringtones to my phone.

I recorded calls from dispatchers at the police communications centre (control) and EMS/FIRE dispatch centre as very short wave files.

I moved these from my PC to my phones ringtone folder and created my own call ring tones.

My PC asked if I wanted to convert these files so the phone would recognized them and I click yes.

I did not realize the reactions that I would get from people when my phone rings now.

Example of new ringtones:

Brovo 191 control.

Alfalfa 591 10-70.

Charlie 800 10-70 on your 10-11.

Broadview cars 10-70

My reaction would be to laugh at that cool person who's phone is saying Alfalfa and Brovo.

One of the guys on my Dep't did a similar trick -- recorded our tones and alert warble and converted that to use as his ringtone. Every time his phone would ring at the firehouse everybody would get up and go to grab their gear. Needless to say, he was pretty quickly encouraged to change it to something -- anything -- else.

More fun ringtones

Just having fun with it.

I have added about 30 more to both ringtones and text alerts.

New ones :

STAR 9 from Flight Centre.

Echo 390 Control.

Echo 277 Control.

alpha 161 / 162 Control.

Added various fire departments being called by dispatch.

Added retro ring from old FleetNet 800 system from analog audio tape made in the 1990's.

Added retro ring from old AutoPhone system from analog audio tape recording from tha 1980's.

And yes it was not Alfalfa 593 but Alpha 593 Control.

Just a little funny.

Files are converted from WAVE to WMA so the phone will recognize them.
