Casting call requirements to be on COPS

Thanks Rick
Here are a few stipulation I found in order to be on COPS:

Police Requirments:
  • Successful completion of a Police Academy Program that meets the guidelines of the KansasLawEnforcementTrainingCenter.
  • Working knowledge of the geography of the City and the location of important buildings.
  • Some knowledge of first‑aid methods.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies; to record details about names, faces, and incidents quickly, clearly, and accurately.
  • Ability to accurately and effectively discharge a rifle, shotgun, and handgun with both left and right hands.
  • Ability to subdue a violent and/or uncooperative person by methods requiring physical force.
  • Ability to drag or carry an average adult person, about 160 pounds, a distance of fifteen to twenty feet, away from danger.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, other employees, representatives of other organizations, and the public.
  • Ability to operate an automobile.
  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.
  • An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Suspect requirements:
  • Successful completion of any Academy is not necessary.
  • Knowledge of the geography of the City and the location of important buildings is a plus but again not necessary.
  • Some knowledge of first‑aid methods with emphasis on what body parts are hurting at the time of there arrest.
  • Ability to run quickly and act calmly as if nothing happen after a 1 mile foot chase.
  • Ability to discharge a rifle, shotgun, and handgun with no regard to public safety.
  • Ability to act violent and/or uncooperative and display a wide variety of self absorbed emotions as a result of physical force be used against you.
  • Ability to drag out or carry on a conversation about anything other then the current situation that got you involved.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively, display a mullet or wild hair. If hair is not an option large tattoos or bad attitudes will suffice.
  • Ability to try and re-develop and effective relationships with your estranged associates or spouse, after the police was dispatched to the scene and must be able to make a public address when the situation does not go your way.
  • Ability to operate an automobile, motorcycle, riding mower, etc…
  • Possession of and ability to maintain a valid driver's license is a plus but not required. But to be shown on TV in possesion of drugs or any controlled substance with out a driver license is sure bet you will be on TV.

Mullets are what make COPS a great show. Whenever you think you had a crappy week, on Saturday you can turn on COPS and say "whew, at least I don't have a mullet"

Police Requirements:

• The ability to know exactly where the call to service is located before dispatch even finishes giving it to you, because you've already been to that address three times already today.

Ha, that's great.

This would probably air this fall with the new season right? Looking forward to it. Thanks for the update.
