According to an article here on RR, I should be able to do this.
Quote from the article:
"Especially if you have a large Excel file you wish to copy into Sentinel. Just do a CTRL+C from Excel
and then CTRL+V into Sentinel. Just remember you can only copy one column of data at a time into Sentinel.
This means you will have to copy the Frequencies over in one transaction then in a separate copy/paste
copy the alphatags over to match up with the Frequencies".

This doesn't work for me. If I highlight a column of frequencies in Excel and attempt to paste it into the frequencies column of the Favorites List Editor, I get a "Paste Operation Failed...You cannot paste xxx.xxxx into frequency (column = 3, row = 1)" error message. It only works when I paste one cell at a time. And you cannot highlight the frequency column header either.

What am I doing wrong?

I use it ALL the time, and that info IS wrong. I do multiple columns, they must match the column format though. I have coped individual columns as well (if needed).

I also add 2 or more new rows to start, others don't but it works for me.

I have 600 or so Unit ID's and every one has been pasted from OpenOffice.

Sounds like in your case the freq. is too long, short, or something.

Paste a freq from Sentinel into your spreadsheet to compare.

I still can't get it to work. I still get the "Paste Operation Failed" message. I tried shortening the frequencies, to exactly match what was already in Sentinel, to no avail.
In Sentinel, do you highlight the exact number of cells needed for the paste operation, or does it matter?

Doesn't matter - try dropping into notepad or similar, maybe something wonky that's hidden.

I copied the column of frequencies into Word as text only, and then was able to copy and paste as a column from Word into Sentinel. So there must be some sort of formatting in Excel that Sentinel doesn't like.

In a previous life:) Way before retirement I spent way too much time "massaging" data. I've forgotten way more than I remember, but still know some tricks.

Glad you got it.
