Copy Comments to Alpha Tag?

In Freescan, after importing Trunked system data, after selecting my groups and channels, I often want to use the description in the comments field, rather than the truncated all caps description in the alpha-text field. Is there any way to copy the entire comments column to the alpha-text?

Keep in mind that the number of characters you can put in the alpha tag is greatly limited by what the scanner can handle (either 12 or 16 characters, I've forgotten which). So such an operation won't be very useful

I'm aware of the limit. In most cases the comments are short, but still more comprehensible than the alpha text. The comments would need to be edited down, but with hundreds of TGID's it would be many fewer keystrokes.

I don't know if FreeScan allows you to use copy/paste from the comments field, but worth a try...Mike

Just a Thought. ..

Are you using the 'EZGrab' feature with FreeScan? If so, are you aware that you can choose what database field is displayed in the scanner using the little choice boxes at the top of each column? You probably are -- just ignore if that's too obvious.
