So I was reading that Backtrack can receive DECT 6.0 cordless phones and I have a DECT 6.0 cordless phone! But I'm not sure if it uses encryption or not. I think Backtrack can only decode unencrypted data.

So I need some help here since I can't find out whether my phone uses encryption or not. The phone I have is an AT&T model CRL 81212.

If the thing isn't using encryption I'm buying a 5 GHZ DSS phone.

I would buy the card and try Backtrack with my phone to see if it does use encryption, but I'm a Linux noob and can't figure out how to use the software. :/

So I gave AT&T a call the company that makes my DECT 6.0 phone and asked her if the phone uses encryption and apparently it does. I know the encryption is weak, but I doubt a MIT grad lives around the corner or a hacker that can decrypt it. I'm just wondering what the capabilities of Backtrack is. I'm not for certain if it can decode encrypted DECT 6.0 since the IV is weak.
