You might double check the freqs. and the order of the freqs from this DB here on Radio Reference. I usually don't monitor the Flour Bluff tower...So I'm not sure of any problems..I'm always monitoring the Shoreline tower with no problems at all lately..

Updated the DB

I have updated the RR-DB for Corpus Christi. I only have verified the information for the Shoreline site.

Can anyone give me the correct LCN order for Violet?

000854.98750000 #1
000855.48750000 #2
000855.73750000 #3
000856.23750000 #4
000856.48750000 #5
000856.71250000 #6
000857.23750000 #7
000857.48750000 #8
000857.71250000 #9
000858.23750000 #10
000858.71250000 #11
000859.23750000 #12
000859.71250000 #13
000860.23750000 #14
000860.71250000 #15
000855.98750000 #16
000858.48750000 #17
000854.71250000 #18
000857.08750000 #19

The last 3 freq's are new, and are most likely LCN #9 and #10.

Thanks,

Mickel

I'm going to leave mine alone then, thanks for answering Larry. By any chance do you know were animal control is on this system now? BBedsole and I have been looking for them.

The current list in the DB for Violet is the one that I am using and is correct except for 2 of the slots, LCN's 9and 10 have changed. LCN 9 is 857.0875 and I have not found the new freq for LCN 10 yet. No idea where animal control went, I seldom listen to city services, mostly PD and FD and lately have been listening to San Pat more than Corpus for some reason, just a change of pace I guess.

Just FYI, the list that I posted are all the frequencies for the Violet site, they are NOT in order.

Thanks Nueces162 for filling in the blanks. I'm sure LCN 10 in is the list somewhere (i hope).

I will try to verify all the channels for Violet/Robstown tonight.

More Changes

Here is some more to experiment with, two new systems.

Site: Calallen (1.2 Miles West of US 77 and IH 37 Intersection.)

856.21250 #1
857.21250 #2
857.73750 #3
858.21250 #4
858.73750 #5
859.21250 #6
859.73750 #7
854.43750 #9

#8 got swaped to another site I think.

Site: Padre Island (SOUTHEAST OF PARK ROAD 22 AND SEA PINE DRIVE)

856.46250 #1
856.96250 #2
857.46250 #3
857.96250 #4

Again these are not in the right LCN order, also I don't know if there are any control channels or activity.

Enjoy,

Mickel

The Calallen site was or still is on the radio tower in Basemore Park north of 624. I was working on figuring out this site a while back but got sidetracked with other stuff.

What I had so far is:
site - 14
slot 1 - 856.2125 (control)
slot 2 - ?
slot 3 - 857.7375
slot 4 - ?
slot 5 - 858.7375
slot 6 - 859.7375
slot 7 - ?

looks like they may have just done them in order low to high so will try that this weekend and see what I can hear.
Unitrunker showed 7 freqs, there was not enough traffic to really figure out the other slots and there was a Motorola control channel on one of the freqs listed for that site. At the time I was mapping it out the only traffic was CCFD dispatch, the repeater that was in use locked up after every transmission and audio quality was very poor.

Ok, looking at the Calallen site this afternoon its active, sort of. The only traffic seems to be fire dispatch and now and then a stray Adam or Delta unit. Since it does look like an active site then one of the DB admin types reading this may as well go ahead and add it to the listing for the Corpus system.

Unitrunker now shows a 6 channel site, the correct site number is 3 instead of what I had.
:
site - 03
slot 1 - 856.2125 (control)
slot 2 - 857.2125
slot 3 - 857.7375
slot 4 - ?
slot 5 - 858.7375
slot 6 - 859.7375

no idea on LCN 4, unitrunker does not even show a place marker for it at the moment.

I added site 3, please let us know when you find LCN 4, I made an educated guess on what it might be.

Please post a change for the system in the RR-DB.

Thanks J.

Does anyone have the correct order for the Violet tower. Freq 857.0875 is listed in the DB twice in Loc 9 and Loc 16.

Lifeguard talkgroup

In case anyone is interested in listening to Lifeguard traffic on the beach, their talkgroup is DEC 1113. It's not listed in the RR database. Possibly a seasonal talkgroup. Sometimes interesting when talking about possible drownings or missing children. Today, they were talking about whether anyone had baby oil (probably to deal with tar... oil spill related?)

Lifeguards

LarryN, I'm pretty sure they are talking about City of Corpus Christi beaches. Here's a recent Caller Times article about the location of the seven lifeguard stands. This sounds right... New Corpus Christi lifeguard stands will be manned starting Friday » Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

I don't recall picking up any lifeguards on 550, but I'm certain that they are definitely on 1113, at least while talking to each other. I heard them several times in the past week or two while scanning in open mode, so I know it wasn't just a fluke.

There is also a Bluntzer EMS talkgroup. I have that one listed in my Win97 configs at work, but I'm at home, and all these are not as up to date. I'll send it to you next week.

Last summer and during spring break the life guards were using TG 550. I will leave it in the DB for now until we can confirm that they are not longer using 550 for anything.

LCRA in Corpus?

I was listening to a Hays County Pct. 1 Constable this morning in Hays County, explaining to a dispatcher that his "county radio" (as opposed to his other radio, though both are LCRA) was doing some weird things. First he said his radio started searching for a control channel and locked on the Kingsbury site (not a far stretch he was close to the Guadalupe County line in eastern Hays County). Then he mentioned it dropped into "Wide Angle Scan" (that's what he called EDACS Wide Area Scan). Then he said after that, it locked on to the "Corpus control channel." He did not mention the alpha tag his radio had but I was not aware of any LCRA Corpus site (or any in the Nueces/San Pat area).

We have seen new LCRA sites popping up (evidently) and I was wondering if any resident (Larry?) of "Body of Christ" can confirm whether or not there actually is a Corpus LCRA Site. I'm not banking on it because:
a). he called it Wide Angle Scan

b). maybe he confused a text tag on his radio with something that looked similar to "Corpus"or whatever combo of letters they used.

I would be interested in any feedback y'all might have.
