Corpus Christi Live Scanner

On the RR Data base for Corpus there is an link for an live scanner at the local paper? Subscription cost is $50.00 annually. Does that provide streaming audio for thier PV EDACS system, or is it for an old system?

If it is for the ProVoice system, then hmmmmmm....... maybe somebody in San Antonio needs to get with the program.

It is for the current system. You can pay and get everything broadcast EXCEPT of course anything digital. I have not used this since they made it a pay to listen site, so I don't know if you can hear all talk groups or not.

For $119 you can go and get a 94 and not only listen to City of CC, you can listen to anything else that tickles you. How would you listen to streaming audio in your car anyway?

If the system operated in PV digital, then an Pro-94 would do me absolutely no good. I have 3 scanners that do me absolutely no good on the local system here, unless there is analog talkgroups operating.

I posed the question, because if they were using streaming audio from an PV capable radio, not scanner, then the benefits would be worth paying $50.00 for to listen on my computer at work, and at home, where I spend most of my time anyway.

I do appreciate the alternate option though even though I don't know where it originated :wink:

I didn't think about the fact that you were out of the area. I know several people here in CC that thought the live broadcast was the coolest thing. If you would excuse me, I have to go get some bubblegum off my toes.

the caller times actually uses a pro-94 that is streamed. Its not that great now that it became a paid service. They were saying that they would be upgrading the bandwidth and have tech support 24/7. What i would wish they did was to provide separite streams for police and fire because they used to always cross over each other. i dont see them doing this anytime in the near future.
