couldn't help noticing that someone updated Corpus' EDACS system as type: Aegis.

last time i was there, it was all analog EDACS regular - did something change recently?

the "news updates" for Corpus don't address this change...

yeah, i did some poking around and it seems the JET teams are ProVoice, not DES crypto...

maybe Mikel can confirm this?

JET goes ProVoice digital whenever they think it is needed, but most of the time they are analog. CID and NARC are almost always digital unless asking for backup from patrol units.

BTW, CID units, Ford Tarrus (sp) don't seem to have mounted radios; no antennas, no avl buttons, etc. it appears that the officers only use their handheld radios.

Yes sorry late reply, I should really read the forums more...

Most JET,VICE and NARC have LPE-200's, and I believe they are ProVoice capable, but as far as I know they still use Aegis.
Not that often, but sometimes they say, go "digital"...

hm, i'm not so sure going "digital" for a private comm is the best thing to do in a 2-tower system that tries to reach to the ends of a city shaped like a brisket...

they'd probably get better coverage out on Leopard using Nextel phones!
