I'm hearing a correctional facility on 464.250 (162.2 PL) and I think it may be in the Berkeley County area. Can you guys around Berkeley County give a listen and see if this is local to your area? There doesn't seem to be an FCC license for it at all. Thanks.

Is there a Juvenile Detention Center nearby? They are known to use business-band frequencies (461-465) instead of the typical DOC or RJ freqs (460.0-460.5). Perhaps the Eastern Regional JDC in Martinsburg?

it does sound like ERJ but it's not listed in the FCC or RR DB. about all I have heard are radio checks.

They have something like 4 officers that do constant radio checks. You can hearing them escorting people from different places like dining halls and to the basketball court, etc. Considering how few people I hear actually using radios, a juvenile facility does make sense. An adult facility would probably require quite a bit more staff. I was thinking Martinsburg only because it's clear enough for me to hear but obviously not local to Hagerstown. I'll bet that Eastern Regional JDC is correct, but for now I'll just gather more information.

Does it sound local to Martinsburg or does it sound farther out? Cause it's definately not Hagerstown unless it's low-power. It's not federal cause then it would be 410 MHz trunked, and it's probably not state cause they're usually up around 154 MHz. What other private correctional facilities are nearby?

There is no federal facility near Martinsburg. There is ERJ on Grapevine Road. The Juvenile Facility is behind the Sheriff's office off of Queen Street. The old ERJ on Charles Town Road is now a WV DOC classification facility. The Juvenile Facility is a separate entity from the ERJ. All three facilities have very small staffs and the public should be alarmed about the staffing levels. The ERJ might be operating off of a license from the Regional Jail Commission in Charleston. Ditto for the DOC facility.

There are other federal facilities in the county. Understand they might (if they is a Juvenile Facility) be able to run off the license for the Jail system, but there is nothing in the FCC DB for this freq.

I should have clarified that there are no federal detention facilities near Martinsburg. Since the topic was correctional facilities I didn't clarify. There are a multitude of acknowledged and covert federal facilites in the panhandle.

I just glaced at their website and I would venture a guess to say no. It sounds more like a correctional facility than a youth improvement program. I just don't know which correctional facility or jail it could be...

Just a thought.

I'm not up there to say whats what but in Fayette County they are a Juvenile Facility when I tried to do a FCC search it would not come up with it for Fayette County but from the main Facility a few countys over in Logan County I think. It has been a while when I looked it up. I do remeber it was using some kind of company name. I only figure it out then becuase I know someone worked there to confirm the name of it.

Outside of that .250 correct? Just not a bleed over from a adjacent freq. 12.5k up and down hits a few on the FCC database.
