Does the Corrections bus that makes the rounds to all the county jails operate on the State Shared System? Does it utilize one of the NHP talk groups or does Corrections have their own?

The Nevada Dept of Corrections utilizes VHF around their prisons but can use the Allied channels on the NSRS to talk with NHP in areas that the NSRS is operational. It is noteworthy that they use a talkgroup assigned to the Dept. of Public Safety Emergency Management Division labeled "Prison" on the radios. This talkgroup is 05-024 and it is often heard in many parts of the state. Some of the prison institutions have the ability to talk to each other on this talkgroup.

Thanks for the update. On the old rural NHP system, they ID'd using "Paul" callsigns, (which they shared with Parole and Probation officers).

When using the NSRS the Dept. of Corrections should be using the prefix of Paul Victor as I believe the prefix of Paul is stictly DPS Div. of Parole & Probation.
