As we know,Counties and local departments are also joining SAFE-T.A clue to who's using a NEW TALKGROUP is to listen for the FIRST TWO NUMBERS of thier call numbers(57##-NOBLE CO.,84##-VIGO CO. and so on) just like on your license plate(2-ALLEN CO.,45-LAKE CO.,17-DeKALB CO.)Let me know if I'MMMM RIGHT!!!!..Thanks MRS

For the most part, yes...

As usual, there are exceptions...

Then, I'll put this to you: Let's say Floyd County follows this (I don't really know if they do or not), and you hear a dispatcher calling unit 2211. How do you know whether or not it's Floyd County or ISP District 22?

It's easy. If it's the ISP, the dispatcher will ID by post...

"2211, Fort Wayne." is ISP District 22. Some counties will do the same, some will not. Noble County, LaGrange County, and DeKalb County, for instance, all ID like this:

"1711, DeKalb."
"5711, Noble County."
"4411, LaGrange."

In that instance, both the county name AND number are used...

Hope this helps...

This may help some too:

Some counties, Wabash County for example identify their dispatch just by the number.

Example: Unit 85-4 calling Dispatch: "85, 85-4"
