• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I am heading towards Manhattan today and wondered if anyone had heard any special comms out there being set up for Country Stampede. Last year KDOT had their COW out there and activated several of the 800 Mhz mobile repeaters for KHP and Sheriff to use on security and traffic ops.

For anyone in the area of the Stampede (total attendance is supposed to be around 150,000 this year) I found the following channels in use last night.

Mututal Aid Calling- repeater linked to the KHP Pottawatomie Tower
Mutual Aid Tac 2- repeated law enforcment operations (heard Pott SO and Alcohol Beverage Control units)
868.83750 KHP Troop B Talk-Around- simplex low power KHP patrol teams in the campgrounds (sounded like 5 or six man teams).

I will be back over tonight and try to get some more information. Mutual Aid Tac 1 was also being used but was covered by the busier Tac 2 most of the time and I didn't get a feel for what they were using it for.
