Hey guys. I was curious to find out what the frequencies are for any branch of the Department of Transportation or any Southwest Michigan County Road Commission offices. In particular, I'm looking for Kalamazoo County. I had a few of the frequencies that are listed on this site dialed up on my scanner, but I didn't pick up anything. I'm just thinking maybe they were inactive because there wasn't much going on as far as snow goes or bad road conditions, road repair, etc.

Cass County Road coom and state highway frequ

Hi

Cass County Road Commision is 151.055, but there normal hours is 7 am to 3;30 pm.... In real bad weather, they will work 5 am to 5;30 pm. they will also work Saturdays and Sundays in real bad weather but it got to be something really bad for the Cass County Road Commison to hvae truck out at night for plowing or Sanding.

151-085 is the both the Garages and trucks in Niles Garage and the Jones Garage, Coloma is on a different frequency, but I can't remember it.

This is just information I have learned since owning a scanner since 1969! I don't work for any of these departments.

The frequencies are right on the site at least as they stand for my area. Can't specifically vouch for the K-zoo area frequencies because I don't monitor over there that often.
Around our area it does take a little bit of snow to get their frequencies hopping. Maintainance (summer grass mowing along the freeways, sign replacement, etc.), road repairs and stuff like that may be done by some outside contractors so they may not transmit on MDOT frequencies.
The short response would be, keep listening, there is traffic, but it may take some decent snow or holes in the road.
Good luck. Hope it works.

Thanks guys. I'll be adding those frequencies later on tonight and hopefully I'll be able to pick up something on them during the next big snowfall we have here.
