Will be moving to the Manchester/Londonderry/Merrimack area hopefully by the winter. I am just wondering what Freqs I should be listening to for the fire departments. Also would it be smart to program a scanner for the Lowell, Lawrence, and various other departments? My antenna would probably be in an attic and i would be using a BCD996P2, SDS 200, and a SDS 100 for the handheld. im looking for input so i can start building a code plug. Feel free to pm me for more information if needed.

Manchester and Nashua are P25 Trunks running Phase I for now.

Other FD's are a mix of Analog and P25 conventional

One more thing to note for you. South east of Nashua running South West to North East is a pretty decent size range of "high hills" that are going to provide some terrain blocking to the Southeast (think towards Lawrence/Haverhill), so unless you have some height to your antenna, you may struggle to receive them.

Hey all, interested in programming Manchester FD into my scanner in Wolfeboro. Right now I can clearly get Merrimack Cnty, Concord Fire Alarm, Concord FD, Hooksett, etc from my house. Do you think I'll have a shot at grabbing Manch FD? Thanks!

As Dave suggests, put in the CC and see what you hear,
my guess is likely Not due to the Hills/Mountains between

With a directional antenna at good height, maybe but in most conditions its unlikely due to how 800 MHz systems work.

I live in Epsom with a discone antenna on the roof and receive nothing on Manchester Fire.
In the mobile I can get MFD in parts of Allenstown, and all of Hooksett which borders Manchester.
