Hello Forum Administration folks

Got a few things on my mind this morning I wanted to toss in to the ever changing mix here on radio reference.

I have read that WE can no longer openly criticize Admins or Moderators which is understandable. But, there is NO place to Commend an Admin or Mod either. An area for that would be nice.

Recently I was looking for help imbedding code to my Joomla site. Two members could not fully work out the problem with me but gave me great help. Both W9RXR and Bezking gave me info which I was unaware of and helped me move in the correct direction. kb32, in PM solved the problem and now my site is displaying my feed.

So I wanted to Thank all three members for the assist but found no real place to post this. Now I understand that area's like this kind of linger in gray area's around the PR of this website with Google indexing and meta data which Radio reference want to keep as positive and on track as possible. But a "Commend a Admin" area might be a nice add (closely moderated of course).

Second: I recently completed the County Incident command Trailer project and during its construction often had my Blackberry running my feed on bbscanner. MANY of the Sheriff's Administration and other Public Safety saw this and liked it, in fact even the Chief Deputy downloaded the app for his iPhone. Today there are MANY in Public safety who listen to my feed and others and even browse the forums, NONE of them see Radio Reference negatively. but rather as a cool asset.

One thing that we wanted to do was put a "Powered by Radio Reference" sticker on the trailer, additionally several people have asked if RRDB has a T-Shirt or other promo apparel such as ball caps and buttons. Apparantly at this point in time there is nothing like this available.

Can this be looked into? Seriously considered? I know selling Shirts requires a lot of time and oversight. Stickers are big too. I have four Police Departments which would proudly wear them on their bumpers, several Fire Departments also.

Radio Reference.com has come a long way since Trunked Radio.net and lcblanton.com, it would be nice to see Radio Reference step into the world of promotional products as well. My coffee cup this morning has Bat wings on it, I'd rather it have Radio Reference on it instead. Shirts and caps would be cool too and you could even use them for members who say purchased a five year subscription - The possibilities are endless.

So just a few thoughts to add to you're already busy days - Have a good one!

Well I am sure that W9RXR, Bezking and kb32 will thank you if they spot this thread.

As for an area for such comments, well here is as good as any. But, really, the staff here doesn't need a set place for the membership to post comments about the staff; indeed any day that goes by when some member isn't cussing me out is a good one as far as I am concerned. :D

Now on to the other point you bring up, that is a sticker for your trailer, or for that matter any such things, well this was done years ago, so long that you don't even remember it apparently. :)

But in any case here is a link for you:
Benduchi's Online Store
Scroll to the bottom for a sticker, but it doesn't say exactly what you want.

Well, after having another user call me a "flaming ***got" in response to a moderation action, it's certainly nice to hear some kind words for a change. Thanks Max! :)

I would probably go for a RR coffee mug if I could find one... ;)

Lou, remember the guy who was selling shirts (or hats?) that said "Lindsay Blanton is a Communist?"

Thanks MaxTracker! Glad I could help and that the issue was resolved! Let me know if you need anything else.

Maybe CafePress would work. I'd go for some inexpensive RR gear.

WOW - An Online store NICE! (Love the Radio Reference Thong!!!) Whooping out the VISA now - Thanks Lou!:p

I've a history of being a radio reference retard. Then I got into php and now fully understand things better. I even built my own forums and wow, do I see even more clearly now. I appreciate the Great Radio Reference staff and the Great work you guys do. I know now how complicated this can be. I also remember how friendly the forums were before they got BIG. I just want to do my part in contributing "happiness" to the community and when you guys do take time out of your day and away from your projects to help, I feel I owe you the decency of a "Thank you" Thank you's are free and don't hurt to give :D!

Seriously guys - I appreciate all of you!

Did ya ban the dude for the Commie remarks?

Your master site
Here or the System Admin thread are okay. I suppose really you could just email it to Lindsay and hope it gets cascaded down (in typical corporate email fashion for those familiar with it!).

I've been toying with a non-publicly viewable forum for members to post comments kind of like a Comment Box kinda thing. It seems it's the easiest for people to just click create thread and type (versus any other means like read the database! ;)).
