1st update - Looks like Chambers Co So has added another repeater.
154.385 (94.8) is the output (confirmed 11-12-09). Input should be 156.075 (will attempt to confirm that). This maybe the "South" repeater I have mentioned before.

2nd update - Looks like AFC (Forestry) has started the conversion over to their narrowband channels. Here is Tallapoosa Co, I have monitored 159.2625 (repeater out) with traffic. And I have logged (using WIN500) 151.1975 and 151.3925 (both are repeater inputs). It appears the "new" channels are using DCS (159.2625 with 503, 151.1975 with 315 and 151.3925 with 627). So it maybe time to program all of the narrowband AFC channels in and see have this will be playing out.

Paul, try these:
151.1675
151.3325
151.3775
151.3925
151.4075
151.4225
151.4675
151.4825
159.2625
159.2775
159.3075
159.3225
159.3375
159.3525
159.3975
159.4125
159.4275

151MHz ones are "normally" the inputs and 159MHz are "normally" the outputs. But being it is the State, anything can/could go. I still hear the "old" repeaters also but I haven't had the time to see if both repeaters are broadcasting the same info (yet).

Also if you haven't got rid of the Pro-96 yet, let me know by e-mail (the Bellsouth ones are ok). Been out of the loop somewhat due to family problems and will be still out for the next few weeks. I will been checking here and my e-mail as mush as possible.

At the hairdresser's, past the liquor store.
The Alabama Forestry Commission is in the process, or has already completed, closing all regional communication centers. I suppose narrowbanding is connected with this to improve radio quality.

They are placing all their eggs in one basket from Montgomery. The two radio operators in the Florence office are, for now, in an office without radio duties.

I’ve offered to “go contract” with them locally when they realize the folly of this plan.

Now RadioJonD, you know that the State doesn't do "follies"!
joejo95, your info is "interesting" because that is the same set-up (159.2625 D503) that I monitored the Chambers Co AFC unit(s) using. That "could" mean AFC will use the "new" system to cover more area with less repeater pairs.
Alabama RS, in the past AFC used the County name that the repeater was located in as the alpha tag (example for Dadeville dispatch: Coosa = Weogufka repeater, Tallapoosa = either of the 2-3 sites in Tallapoosa Co with sometime actual locations used, Clay/Cleburne = Cheaha repeater with a catch).
Those are just my "personal" experience with AFC at Dadeville. RadioJonD could shed more light because he was a AFCer before being seduced to the Dark Side oh I mean DPS.

That may be why your not hearing any they need to be programmed as NFM or Auto.
Also the best time to hear is from 6:00 to 8:00 AM EST when they do rollcall or 4:00 to
6:00 PM EST when they tell Mont. St. they are checking out to go home.

Steve I just seen in your post were you was talking to me. Yes it looks like AFC is useing the
same freqs. and DCS for groups of countys. I wonder if the state is cut up in districts. Then each
county in that district get the same freq. and DCS.
