I think I've seen that the regular home troubleshooters go out in the morning with a list of residences to check out and they use a cellphone
to communicate with those residences ("I'm on my way") as well as with the office ("can you send a refresh signal?").

But how do the emergency repair truck work? For instance, we just had a storm blow through heavily disrupting service. I can listen to Entergy to get an idea when my power will be restored and I'd like to do the same with my tv/internet connection. Do they use cellphones for communication as well or do they have a radio system?

very good question.. I would like to know the answer to that also as i am a cox cable customer. when they have done service work on my home, I have only seen them using what looked to me like nextel two-ways. If they have radios, I would love to know about it for future reference.

yeah, I've got a Ku dish because I've got no room for a C and I love it.
I think my main problem is losing internet connectivity. I'm in the process of installing AOL and NetZero in the hope that I can get through via dialup when the broadband goes down.

Regarding the COX frequencies, I started going through the FCC database looking for possibilities but I haven't found anything solid yet.

Remember, when searching the FCC database you must search for locations and not for the licensee (who may be in another state)

Cox Communications Louisiana, LLC is located in Atlanta,GA.
FRN is 0005058854

I tried Cox and then ran through some of the 2400 returns. Once I saw Cox Communications Louisiana, I used that FRN to get the 25 licenses to that FRN. The name will return the same 25 licenses but I like to use the FRN as all of the groups licenses may not use the same name. (abbreviations, other partnerships, etc)

Cox Communications in CT, RI, & MA use lots of LTR and LTR NET systems in the UHF band.
