• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all,
After reading quite a few threads on here about programming the CP200ds and not getting the solution to my problem I figured I'd post my own.

I have 2 CP200ds sitting in front of me and my Windows 7 Computer with MOTOTRBO CPS 2.0 (that successfully programs XPR7550s via Bluetooth), and a simple Mirco USB that I used to transfer files from my computer to old Samsung phone with, and CPS cannot read the radio. These radios have already been programmed by someone I do not know, I'm programming them for my school and they are unsure of who programmed them as well. When I plug in the radio the computer attempts to download driver software however it's unsuccessful. When I go to the device manager, I see it says "Motorola Solutions LTD Device" with a small orange triangle. When I click on it it says "unavailable" I'm at a loss! Any help is always greatly appreciated!

Thank you all!

Are you sure that you are using CPS2.0 to program them? 2.0 doesn't support bluetooth programming (yet i hope). Were they last programmed with CPS2.0? If not try to program them with CPS 16
I'm not sure how you are plugging them in but try this:
Power radio off>plug in USB cable>power radio on
This should work. I know sometimes my other XPR's get unhappy when I plug it in when they are turned on.
EDIT: Also the radio should acknowledge that you plugged a programming cable in with a chirp. Does it do this?

I apologize it is CPS 16.0, I did try to do what you suggested, the radio is acknowledging the cord. Every time I try to plug it in the computer recognizes the radio as Motorola Solutions LTD Device but nothing else!

Have you tried any other cable? Have you installed any kind of driver for it?

I personally haven’t installed any other drivers, I’m trying another cable tomorrow.
