Hello, I have been listing to the CPD during both Lolla and the Bud Billikin parade and would like to know who the 7500 units are? Are these still detectives or did that change? Thanks.

Do they also do details for Cubs, Sox, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks games? Not detectives, but one of those special detailed units..
Those are still the 4700 units I take it?No...

Yes I know about the TMA's, but what about the 4700 units on CW 1? Or has that unit been disbanded? Thanks.TMA's..

Or off duty CPD officer working security. No I have not hard anything, my guess is that any Police presence is district personalOnly 4700 series I hear on CW-1 is the Canine Teams these days. The events I've been to all I see are TMA's and Standard Parking personnel. Inside the venues is contract security. Have you heard anything else?

No I have not, I have heard the 3700 units during large events. As I asked above any on CPD officers that might be around the venues for sporting events or concerts would be district officers?Have you heard any 4700 series units, outside of the Canine Teams lately? I heard the 3700 units, which are basically around for traffic support during large events. If you happen to go to a sporting event, you'll see many TMA's now.

Heard the 7500 units during the Marathon and the Sox Game. They might use District personnel as support, but they're mainly on patrol answering calls. Many variables when it comes to large scale sporting events/venues etc. But...to answer your original question, I found something on the 7500 series:
The Critical Incident Response Team will be composed of 250 officers and will handle special events, marches, large gatherings and protecting First Amendment rights. Superintendent Brown said the officers would have special training to identify crowd issues and First Amendment training.
Hopefully this answers the question..
One of the security guards at work is retired CPD, one of her side jobs was at Sox park as security. Whenever they played the Cubs fights happened all the time. No surprise alcohol was involved, and the fights usually stated in the bottom of the 7thYes, I know of off-duty CPD, Cook County Sheriff's, suburban police working for the contract security or venue security/public safety, but to my knowledge, they don't use CPD radios or radio signatures.
