Hi.

Please can someone explain to me what the different between a Ticket and an Event Number is? I’ve looked at the Scanner Guide on https://crimeisdown.com but I’m still unclear.

I get that when they pull an RD they are doing a case report but it seems that tickets have multiple event numbers on them?

Anyone who can clarify for me please. Thank you.

For most Illinois agencies, ticket numbers are CAD tickets or Calls for Service. Event numbers are for incident reports.

Chicago is slightly different in this respect. RD numbers are for case reports. CPD CAD system generates a number for every activity (Gas, reports etc) which is different than a case report which generates an RD Number. When a unit requests an RD number, the CAD number (Event Number) is also on the report. As of Jan. 1st, the entire 10 Event numbers are needed to complete a report. 21 (year) 05 (current month) xxxxx (Last 5).

Thank you for your reply.
So, if for example someone calls in a disturbance do the OEMC create an event number? I thought they created a ticket? I was wondering what the difference between a ticket and an event number is or are they just the same?
Thank you

It's all the same, just a generic term.
