I am in lower Stoney creek and I was wondering if anyone is able to hear the Welland tower outside of Niagara. I find that the signal is very weak and you have to be right in Welland to hear it. Same with the hotboxes on the mountain near Vinemount, Grassie, and Smithville. Someone did have an antenna on their car at the yard across Gage Park & they do pick up the hotbox detectors but I can't.

Does anyone have any advice if it's possible to reach Welland from here? Or what antennas you recommend to pick up that stuff from here?

Are you listening to CP82 (160.815)? There's two main transmitter sites in Niagara for this - Smithville and Brookfield. The RTC will select the tower depending on where the crew is they want to talk to. Its possible the Brookfield site is a bit too far for Stoney Creek buy YMWV.
