CPU firmware release G1.04 for PSR300/400 on GRE site.
Ok. So here is the freaky thing.
I have the RadioShack 20-047 USB to serial cable and ARC300 v1.04 with the GRE PSR300. I just did the firmware update to the scanner today to the 1.04 version. So I thought everything would get along chummy.
NOW when I try to upload programming data from ARC300, and I set the scanner model to GRE 300/400, the scanner gives me the INCORRECT MODEL! UNPLUG CABLE brush off. If I ignore the message, nothing gets updated in the scanner. I can only program the scanner by setting the model to RS163/164.
Not exactly what I would have expected given that the firmware update was supposed to make cloning between the different models possible. Seems like they just applied the RS164 firmware to the PSR300 radio.
I re-initialized the scanner and the firmware update sticks, but I still get the same behavior. I was able to program it, but it seems sort of wonky.
I too am getting the "incorect model remove cable error" since upgrading to version 1.04 I am using Win97 and have tried both the PSR 300/400 and 163/164 as well as the older 97 and 2055. What is the deal? Now I can't program my PSR-400 like I have flawlessly. Is there is a bug in this new version? I'm going to submit this to GRE.
So from now on I have use the 163/164 option when uploading to my PSR-400? That's weird? Why is that?
Yep. I just released version 1.18. The only change is the text of various items in the "Scanner" menu. The firmware was changed in version 1.4 to make it so that a PSR-300/400 could be cloned directly to a Pro-164/163 and vice-versa. To do that, GRE changed the cloning protocol on the PSR-300/400 to match the Pro-164/163, thus the need to use that option. I would suspect that Don will be making changes to Win97 to this effect before too long.
Hi everyone, i cant update the PSR-500 DSP I have 1.1 version trying to upgrade to the 1.3 radio says error turn radio off,any suggestions?
Hi everyone
I get a message when I make the test step, it says: No data from the scanner. Please retry from step 1.
I have been programming my scanner with the psredit software so I know I have comms between the scanner and my pc.
I have tried using only the serial port and the usb to serial adapter but nothing works.
Do you know what I'm missing in the middle of the process?
Thanks in advance
At what point does this happen?
Are you certain you're using the correct serial port on the updater?
Remember that once you've done the 1.4 update, you'll need to change the option in the configuration menu to remove the PSR-300/400 upload option, or use the Pro-163/164 upload option.
