I have an old Craig 4250A scanner. I have misplaced the AC power cord. It is an older type two prong plug in cord that is a bit smaller than 2 prong cords for newer electronics. Some of you may remember the type which is apparently no longer made. They are rectangular with smaller round pins. They have a small groove on one side. Many portable radios back in the 70's used the same cord. I have found only one on eBay that looks like it is the same type but the seller wants about $18 plus shipping. Has anyone seen these available elsewhere?

Similar to this? Might need to measure your pin spacing to know for sure.

I did not find that one. It is similar. I will check the measurements. Thanks!

Here is a photo. These sockets have a switch in them that is activated when the AC cord is plugged in to disconnect a DC supply. Batteries or an external DC source. You can see the plunger in the top of the socket and the bump on the bottom is a key for the groove on the AC cord plug.

The pin spacing is 0.25 inches or 6.35 mm. Inner dimensions of the socket are 0.25 x 0.54 inches, or 6.35 x 14 mm. The cord in that eBay listing may work. It is certainly cheap enough so I will try one. I figure eventually I will find an exact cord. I think this listing is the exact cord but overly priced. It definitely looks close and certainly better than $18 plus shipping. Hopefully it works for you.

This power cord works. Received it yesterday. It fits and connects properly with the pins in the socket. Thanks for finding it.

Wow, that was a trip down memory lane! My first scanner was an 8-channel Craig like shown in the attached. Circa 1976. That and a Realistic shortwave started my fascination with radio that hasn't faded over the course of 45+ years.
