Good afternoon!

Tower 175 is confirmed as being Craig. As I sit just off Main St. in Tekamah, NE, I can hear the site with just a short wire touch the center pin of my 396XT's BNC connector.

Here's the data from Pro96Com, which fits with what others observed about Jones Creek. Curious that it's on the same CC as Plattsmouth and shares the AC with Falls City's CC!

In the mobile setting, I started getting this site reliably on HW75 just north of Nashville, NE.

Hey, AVSFAN!

Thanks!

I was glad you underscored that new tower in your post yesterday - gave me a reason to be out and about on such a GLORIOUS "winter day" in Eastern Nebraska!

It's rather curious that Craig and Plattsmouth were assigned the same CC frequency.

On HW75, Plattsmouth faded out quite nicely at Nashville while Craig grew in strength as I traveled farther North.

Coming south on HW77 from Oakland, the Craig tower "ran out" at the hill-top weigh scales north of Nickerson, but Plattsmouth began being reliable between Valley and Waterloo.

I've also been trying to re-acquire Falls City to see if any changes have popped-up there.

One more observation about Plattsmouth and Craig...

In the original RFP Attachment D document, Both Craig and Plattsmouth were assigned a frequency of 173.0750.

Obviously this wasn't the channel that was used, but even back then, there was a plan to use the same CC at these two sites.

The Falls City site should be up. Heard on Thursday or Friday NPPD workers doing range testing. One was in Pawnee City using the Fall City tower.

The Plattsmouth tower has a good foot print. I can get it full scale here in Elkhorn and I live in a hole. I can barely receive Dodge county SO Disp.

Impressive! Picking up the Craig site here in Sioux City on a handheld hooked up to an above average mobile antenna.

My question would be when ducting season kicks in, which is very soon, could there be a possibility that that Craig and Plattsmouth towers may not play well together? Or will one of the towers get a control channel moved to reduce the possibility of interference?

Hey, Rich!

That's a _VERY_ good question, because that's a very likely scenario with the towers being only 61 miles apart, as the crow flies.

Most of the problem will be in the "battleground" area where the two coverage circles intersect and interfere the most with each other.

I'm sure that the system designers and planners have taken this into consideration!
