Creskill PD has reportedly been using an unencrypted common talk group on the Bergen County Public Safety Trunked System for the past few weeks.

Anyone know why?

Of course, A Talk Group number would be helpful too:cool:!

It is logical as Demarest and Alpine are on it so as a bordering agency. Bergen County does the 911 for Cresskill so perhaps they are switching to the County for dispatch.

Check BC Trunk TG 1202?

Since Cresskill is the neighboring / bordering town south of Demerest.
Perhaps a listen to: Talk Group 1202 Demerest/Alpine PD Dispatch on the Bergen County trunk system might give a clue especially if Cresskill units are indeed heard there?

Please read this thread carefully, nowhere does it say Creskill PD is NOW encrypted! Unless something a seriously changed in the last few days and hours... "county" law enforcement agencies are encrypted, but not the individual towns using their own talk group(s).

They were using PD OPS 3 ID 109 its one of the 4 Law Enforcement Interops Freqs. Wyckoff had a number of fire alarms due to a power outage last week, Midland Park was asked to go to PD OPS 4 which is TG 110 until things calmed down. Cresskill is using loaner radios, with the same IDs that Oakland used when testing on TG 1207 a few months ago.

Alarmguy,
What? Your post is a little confusing (for me at the least) with the extraneous data about Wyckoff, Midland Park and Oakland:confused:.
Please clarify the actual Inter-ops channel, Talk group and IDs they are currently using on the BC trunk system.
Thanks in advance...

Towns have been testing reception on the trunked system. Since 109 is the interops talkgroup on the system it would make sense it would be used as a testing talkgroup because every radio on the system has access to it!!! If a tow is REALLY switching to the trunked system they would get their own talkgroup or share a talkgroup. Also when posting a new town on the trunked system
