Croton PD Speech inversion

Does anyone know what kind of Speech Iversion Croton PD is using?

I have an Alinco DJ-X3 scanner, which purports to decode speech inversion, but wondering which setting I should be on.

Anyone had any luck monitoring them since this change?

The imports support inversion and there is a mod for the DJ-X2 to turn on the descrambler on the US version of the X2. I am not finding any mod for the X3 though, but I may be overlooking something.

I have the Euro version, does the descambling out of the box.

My question is: is this enough to monitor Croton, or are they encryptrd somehow?

Call J & M Electronics in White Plains. He may know. Thought posts on fordyce.org said Croton has speech inversion. Encryption is something totaly different which cannot be monitored both logistically and legally.

I have been testing the Dj-x3 and it does decode the speech inversion.
I can make out what they are saying but the audio is horrible.

I ordered a kit from Ramsey Electronics, and after I get it assembled I will test that also. Hopefully I can connec that to my regular scanner, and decode with better audio.

Apperently it's not encrypted in any way, just inverted.

Voice inversion IS encryption, and illegal to reverse under U.S. law.

Correct me if wrong anybody reading this, but isn't the legal loophole that you can legally buy and use a descrambler only if it also scrambles???

You may use a descrambler to descramble communications in which you are an authorized participant. That is the only lawful use, with the possible exception of an operator of a shared system who might need to decrypt user communications in order to carry out their statutory duties.
