Stumbled across this AirPulse Desktop program. It uses an RTL-SDR to monitor local repeater activity and feed it into the Greyline map. Looks pretty interesting if you've got a spare SDR lying around.

I am currently working with the developer as part of the beta test phase. We have spotted a few bugs and the developer is exterminating them as we go. Looks like this will be a really nice and useful application. I believe they are still looking for beta testers so if you are in to this sort of thing, check them out. 73, Dave K4EET

I think I’m missing something. A beta license is free for a lifetime, but if you miss that opportunity, you have to pay for a license to send them data?

Besides sending data to their server, what is the benefit of having the license? Where is this data used?

I would think they would follow the methods used by most ADSB services and Broadcastify where if you send data, you earn a paid plan in return for your contribution to their platform. Am I missing that in the original video? Maybe I need another cup of coffee??

All of the Purple nodes contain Repeaters that are actively transmitting, the map is changing all the time, definitely leading to some interesting insights into how many repeaters in a given area have any traffic, soon will have much more coverage

How is knowing which and where HAM repeaters are actively TXing useful? I thought all the repeaters were listed in a book or database already. This is really cool technology, I must admit. I am not trying to start a war, I am genuinely interested in the answer.
