On October 6, 2013, around 10:15 P.M., Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 4615 Hinsdale Way, near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Barnes Road. First alarm companies dispatched were, Engine 10 and 20, Truck 10, and Heavy Rescue 17. This apartment community is the Retreat at Austin Bluffs. Command reported fire through the roof at this apartment building and requested a 3rd alarm. Emergency crews worked on scene for hours to bring the blaze under control. Red Cross Officials were on scene taking care of 20 displaced residents. A PIO with Colorado Springs Fire, says the fire is still currently under investigation. As of 2:00AM Monday, CSFD PIO, reports that "crews continue to work the fire on Hinsdale, no injuries have been reported, and fire investigators on scene".
