I'm trying to figure out which frequencies I'll need to listen to the State Police when I pass thru on I-84. I think I need Fairfield North, New Haven/Middlesex and Tolland West. I don't see anything for Hartford though. Which one should I use in that area? Thanks.

try zone 2 from NY to I-691 (Troop A and couple miles of Troop I), zone 8 from I-691 to 64 (Troop H), zone 5 from 64 to MA (Troop C)

Hi, where are the Troops listed? I see them listed by County but not by letter like you mentioned. Also, could I use the Conventional 800mhz frequencies they have listed and still hear them? That way I wouldn't have to use a bank up for each troop's trunked system. Thanks again.

Find the CONNSCAN list on yahoo groups. There are a few maps that show the covrage locations. CSP is not staffed by "county" by location...(but are loosely close).

Troop A covers I84 from the NY/CT Line to Waterbury.
Troop H covers I84 from Waterbury to the Vernon area
Troop C covers I84 from Vernon to CT/MA line

There is a small sliver between A and H on I84 that is techniically in another troops area, but don't worry about it. Buy the time you worry about it, you in the other troops coverage anyways.

For PA thru NY, I84 is covered by Troop T (Thruway) on their two repeaters (Channel A & B) with both PL's. NYSP Troop F can also be found on I84 when needed to the Hudson River. The NYSP Car/Car channel is handy to have.

(On edit, I see cg also replied...didn't see it! Sorry chris!)

Just my humble suggestion...I have all the control channels for CSP in one bank as well as all the talkgroups...as I move from zone to zone, the scanner locks the new control channel.
