Saturday night at approximately 9:55 p.m., a jogger was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of S. Kipling Pkwy. and W. Asbury Ave. (just south of W. Jewell Ave.). Witnesses report seeing two cars racing at the time of the crash. The first vehicle is described as a red or orange Chrysler PT Cruiser, the second vehicle is a black sedan. It is believed that the jogger was struck by the PT Cruiser, which should have sustained damage to the front grill, hood, windshield and damage to the roof of the vehicle.

Neither vehicle stopped at the scene. The jogger was transported to St. Anthony's Central Hospital with serious injuries.

If you have any information about this crash, or can help in identifying the vehicles that fled the scene, please contact the Colorado State Patrol at 303-239-4501.

And they have identified the vehicle and driver, thanks to a relative tipping them off.

Nice sarcasm. I agree. With the current state of laws in Colorado, I would estimate he gets 4 to 8 years, depending whether he pleads guilty or not. If he pleads guilty it will be on the low end. If he pleads not guilty and is found guilty by a jury, then he will get the higher end, maybe 8 to 10 years.

How much time will actually be served is a whole new discussion. With the way CDOC works lately, he will get out early on good behavior and do it again.

That's the standard book statute answer. We will see what the judge says with all the variables that will be in play.
