This week I got a look at the codeplugs out of a lot of surplus CSX Kenwoods taken from service in the Baltimore Division (excess NX-200's and NX-700's are starting to be liquidated in favour of NX-5200s and NX-5700s). All the road and dispatch channels had a CTCSS (PL) tone of 250.3, which was I wasn't expecting. Anyone in the region able to confirm if this is still in use?

In north Alabama and middle Tennessee, I am still seeing CSX radios with the 250.3 Hz tone. I have to use an audio filter to filter this tone out of the live radio feeds that I provide.

Only on the base/mobile TX side, correct?

I can't say for sure about portables but definitely still on many mobiles (mostly locomotive and MOW radios) and all bases that I have seen.
