I would like to verify what channels that CSXT uses in eastern NC. I know they changed one of the dispatch/road channels here in the Piedmont area of NC from AAR 94 to AAR 59 in 2007 and I want to make sure I'm covered.

No problem having this discussion here as this is a topic of interest to more than a few people here in NC :) (like myself).
I look forward to others input as I usually don't monitor the RR channels as much as I should.

CSX Eastern & Central NC

SD,

Looks like you got them covered pretty well.

The only others I would add to your top most list are:

Wilson - Wallace/Turkey area:

AAR 46 160.800 Dispatch Channel - W&W Sub.- Runs from Wilson,NC off of the A-Line down through Goldsboro, Warsaw & to Turkey/Wallace. Mostly grain traffic and some locals.

Rocky Mount Yard:

AAR 12 160.290

AAR 96 161.550

Hamlet Area:

AAR 08 160.230 Dispatch Channel - Andrews Sub.

AAR 54 160.920 Dispatch Channel - Monroe Sub.

Also I've never known of AAR 59 160.995 being used anywhere on CSX at least over here in the east. The channel change on the W & W sub was from 161.520 to 160.800 maybe 5 years ago. The 6 mobile dial freqs you have are correct too.

These would be the most common current CSX in central & eastern NC:
160.230 Disp.
160.290 Rocky Mount Yd
160.350 PBX
160.395 PBX
160.410 Disp.
160.590 Road
160.785 Maint.of Way
160.800 Disp.
160.890 PBX
160.920 Disp.
161.100 Road
161.265 PBX
161.370 Disp.
161.415 PBX
161.430 PBX
161.520 Disp.
161.550 Rocky Mount Yd

Thanks BL,

As I don't live in the EAST its hard to get the frequencies down to the ones that are used when you are driving through. I will add your list to mine ,that helps a lot. I did not know about the 160.800 at all. BL if you are in the Piedmont the AAR 59 160.995 is used here although they have not got an FCC lic for it . I am going back east in June so I'll have my radio programmed with the updates.I went the southern route and the only action I seen this time was the ACWR at Cander,NC and CSXT grain train coming off the ACWR going south. I heard some CSXT traffic in Wilmington,NC but, was never in position to catch them. My car is not the best railfan vehicle it draws too much attention in the neighborhoods where the best railfanning is. My truck is my railfan comm center !!

If your ever in this Mocksville area or Salisbury I monitor RailFan Radio (151.880).
