• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Which CPS are you using and what is your cable setup? Have you successfully programmed one before?

HVN6053 is the correct CPS for the CT250 radios.

According to all of my documentation, the programming cable for the Commercial Series portables (CP150, CP200, CP200XLS) is the same as used for the CT250 & CT450.

I am not well versed in the revision levels of this software, but is it possible that the radio was programmed with a newer version than you have there?

What cable are you using? Did you load the correct drivers? Have you checked to be sure your using the correct comport?

Were did you get the software? If you did a download from some xbvvmb, site, it maybe corrept.

If it is on disk, try unstalling and reinstalling.

Motorola did not publish a version past 2.02.

Just a thought...

Do you know if this CPS platform sensitive? We know that Win 8 and Win 7/64 can be problematic for some CPS's. Others don't want to run on anything newer than XP. Etc., etc., etc.

For the OP, what are you using?

CT-250 Corrupt CPS issue

I recently acquired 3 CT-250 UHF 4 channel radios from my local hospital maintenance dept. and tried to program the radios with the latest version I had which I believe was the first or second version they came out with a decade ago. Does anyone have any ideas or how to reacquire the RSS since Mother M discontinued the radio and cancelled the software for purchase?? Any help would be appreciated or I will be giving the batteries and chargers to my Mutual Aid Dept. and then give these radios a good burial with my .45 ACP!!
