ctss decode on 996xt

I recently bought this scanner and love it so far except I can figure out how to search for pl/dpl tones on conventional freqs. Also is there a way to when you enter the pl for a known freq it will only scan that pl? any help would be much appreciataed.

This may help:
Edit Channel Options Menu
Setting CTCSS
Scroll to 'Set CTCSS/DCS' and press E/.
Scroll to option Search and press E/ to save and exit:
Search - the scanner searches and displays any CTCSS or DCS tone with the transmission.

To enter a PL , chose the option: CTCSS - the scanner only opens squelch if the CTCSS tone you select is also present with the signal. The scanner then prompts you to enter or scroll to the desired tone.

Hi,
Remember to set the audio to "analog only" also. It won't work if set to "all".
