He had stopped an elderly lady and determined she was not able to drive (due to Health issues) and also didn't want to leave her car parked in West Tulsa for fear it would get stolen or vandalized. He took it upon himself to drive the womans car and herself home and then had another trooper pick him up and return him to his unit. She had no family and recently lost her Husband too.

OHP Troopers Aiding Motorists

I haven't traveled out of state much, but i've been from coast to coast, and it has been my experience from listening to the scanner, that OHP Troopers spend a lot of time checking on motorists (even to the point of finding out that someone just pulled to the roadside to talk on the phone), helping people change tires (if nothing else just holding back and keeping the traffic off of them so that they can safely work), and helping people get gasoline.

That sure compares favorably with some other states where the Highway Patrol is not interested in anything but running down "violators". I say Kudos to them as well!

Hats off to all OHP troopers. They do an outstanding job that is often times unappreciated.

I stand corrected.

they are kinda quirky about being called officers, i remember a sign on the wall at the creek office that read "there are 2 kinds of people in law enforcement, state troopers and those that wish they were".

Their wish is my command.
OHP Troopers have my total respect. I can't imagine having to handle some of the situations they come acros, in the middle of nowhere, with no back-up within 30 minutes.
Then to take the time to assist those in need is even more admirable.
