Does anyone have any information on the new P25 system that Cumberland County is deploying. The only thing I've found is some PDF's for L3/Harris and Motorola portables and mobiles. Any info. would be greatly appriciated.

From the CY22 budget:
301 Capital Funds Bond Projects revenue is increasing $9,767,200. The P25 Radio Infrastructure Project is moving from the planning stage in 2021 to implementation in 2022. The project is expected to continue through 2024.

Will be a 'Motorola' P25 (Phase 2/TDMA) System.
Law Enforcement AND EMS (except EMS Dispatch) will be Encrypted. (so all law enforcement and EMS agencies must have encrypted radios).
The system will be integrated/apart-of the 'South Central Interoperability Network' (with Franklin, Adams, and Dauphin Counties).
Agencies are currently working on funding through applying for Grants, etc.
The county is also presently working on modification of some tower sites to include moving site locations; building new sites, etc etc.
More to follow as time passes.

Interesting that it will be a Motorola system - I guess they will be sharing cores (or georedundant cores?) The consultant that was hired is (was?) a Harris shop, and since the county is a legacy Harris Open Sky customer, the transition will be "trickier."
Can't wait for it come online!
Is it going to be UHF like Dauphin or stay on 800MHz like the current OpenSky system?

Yes, AES-256 is the standard to be able to apply for grants.

I think we are on a fall 2025 timeline with the amount of tower site work left to complete. We have really had some delays in the approval process due to environmental studies, zoning hearings, and the such but still making progress. Sorry I don’t have any frequency or talkgroup info. Further discussion on encryption policy with the Radio Advisory Board to be determined by initially has been all Police and the EMS hospital talkgroups. Fire dispatch should remain open and probably EMS dispatch also but obviously subject to change as we get to final decisions closer to go-live.

I just found something interesting and I'm not sure if it is known or not. Today, I stumbled across a channel simulcasting the Cumberland County East police dispatch from the Open Sky system. It is located in the United States Department of Defense (14C) > Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg.

I never knew. I don't look through military frequencies, so I just happened upon it by accident.
Now trying to figure out how to access that through the SDS100 "set my location" search feature.

does anyone have an update to the progression of the system being built out?
Last story in the news was a blurb back in November bout the Commissioners authorizing another $15M for the project. Cumberland County plans to borrow $15 million for P25 radio project
Prior to that was an article about the county purchasing radios for end user agencies. Pa. county commissioners approve $13 million purchase of emergency radio upgrades
Seeing quite a bit of updates for the Delco project but this one has been pretty quiet. Any new updates or timelines?
I just saw a post today from a local area Unication and Swissphone Dealer that posted today that Cumberland County is offering 2 paging types. P25 Tone/Voice Paging and Alpha Paging (Swissphone). Other than that, that's all I've seen so far. No System/TG data or anything like that I've come across (yet!)
